Hello, my name is Stormy
…And this is my story.
I used to be alone but now I have my pack. I have met so many great friends on my path from shelter puppy to well adjusted good girl that plays well and has her own Stormy Hideaway, a place for friends.
I was adopted in 2017 and loved my family right away. But I never lived in a home before, so I was seriously misbehaved. Everyday I was finding out what was NOT a chew toy (as my mom would say in her heavily accented voice). Like who would think stairs are not a chew toy? Like, what? It's thick wood and the corner fits so well in my mouth. Boy, it was a head scratcher.
But then my family got me all the toys and my brother Charlie was happy to share his with me. But then I went too far and took his bed too...and then I accidentally ate it. I swear, it was a total accident...that accidentally happened like 7 or 10 more times...
Anyway, I got distracted. I was going to tell you my story. The story gets sad first, because I lost my brother Charlie, but then it gets better. My family decided that despite me being a very challenging dog, they were up to it! They figured I was lonely and they started inviting over friends for me to play with. When they saw how happy that makes me, they relaxed significantly over those (cough) constant home repairs that I was causing. The more new friends I was making, the happier I was. My friends loved me, they loved how I played and shared my toys, they loved my yard and my home. So they came back more and more often. Word got out what a good girl I am and new friends found me all the time. Next thing you know, I was not lonely and sad anymore. I had my pack! And my pack was dogs just like me, with sometimes challenging journeys that bring them to great families. And we are always up to accepting new members.
So, that's my story and my hideaway. A place where a dog can be part of a family and is allowed on the couch. Where we get toys and a big yard with bones hidden and ready to be dug up. And a porch for sunbathing. And afternoon treats before a nap. My hideaway is a place where we get cuddles and kisses, even when we don't smell so good. That is why my hideaway is the best.
